Year 6 Jumper Guidelines

Based on their reaction when they received their new jumpers at the end of last term, the students will be eager to begin wearing them as often is possible. Please note that the jumpers may be worn with the school sports uniform. This includes Thursdays and Fridays each week and any other excursions or events that allow sports uniform to be worn.

Occasions may arise where it is deemed that school sports uniform jackets should be worn. In which case, students will be informed in advance that this will be the case. As such, they will not need to bring their school sports jackets to school on a regular basis.

End of Term 1 2018!

Can you believe that it is already the end of Term 1 of Year 6?  I certainly can't believe how quickly this term has gone.

Today there was great excitement as students received their long awaited Year 6 Jumpers.  A lovely way to end the term.

This week we have continued working hard on our learning.  We have completed our Webquest on the Novel 'Little Brother', we have completed a Google Slides presentation on what we have learnt over the term about who we are online, and we have recorded a green screen news report on the Khmer Rouge.  Our learning has continued right up to the last day.

The PDH Slide presentations and the Khmer Rouge News Reports have been loaded to each students' individual blogs, so please take the time to have a look at these with your child.  They are great discussion starters for you to engage with what we have been learning this term.

Have a fabulous, fun and safe holiday, and I look forward to seeing all the students again in two weeks' time, refreshed and ready to continue with our learning.

Big Success at the Big Breaky!

Thank you all so much for your generous support of the Year 6 Class of 2018's first Big Breaky event!  The time and money you contributed is so appreciated.  The Year 6 parents are truly a well oiled machine.  The morning ran without a hitch - Bravo!

Together we raised $692.90 towards their school gift and Bear Cottage. 

This week has been short (4 days) but jam-packed with great learning and events.  We had a rehearsal on Tuesday with the Dee Why students here at Bayview for our musical 'The Lion King', we hosted the Big Breaky on Wednesday morning, we did a cross country practice run on Thursday and finished the week today with PISA Sport and also an amazing session this afternoon with Mr Chia, Mr Morgan and Mrs Utzon sharing about their experiences of being migrants to Australia.  They shared openly about their reasons for migrating, the good things and a few challenges along the way.  We are so grateful for their willingness to come in and contribute to our learning about migration.
