I just wanted to share with you this week some of the positive learning that your children are involved in every day in the classroom.
This term we have been focusing on Healthy Choices in PDH and have made links with this throughout our lessons. I have attached some photos of some of our activities and reflections below.
We started the term with 5 Days of Thankfulness, encouraging students to see the blessings in their everyday week. We talked about how seeing the good in our lives is a choice, and that we can choose for the glass to be half empty or half full - it all depends on what you choose to see.
We have completed reflections based on song lyrics and quotes from key figures focusing on being inspired that we can make choices and changes in our lives that are positive. Some student reflections are shown below.
We have been discussing self image and how we have intrinsic value as human beings and as children of God. We have created 'place mats' where students went around and wrote positive observations about each other, then reflected meaningfully on how those positive thoughts impacted on our understanding of ourselves. I have asked permission to share two of those mats here.
We have also been able to present our gift to the school this week in assembly - what a great moment. The culmination of over half a year of efforts - the students did a fabulous job of presenting and demonstrating our school gift. Harry and his Mum have created a fantastic visual for our classroom to show how close we are to our goal donation amount. Videos of the presentation and photos of the visual are below.
We are working hard to create a positive and encouraging experience for all our students, so that they can see the good in their lives and have the confidence and courage to contribute to our world in the most positive of ways.
